October 22, 2026Leaders from PrimeGlobal members independent accounting and advisory firms across Asia Pacific and beyond gathered in Tokyo for PrimeGlobal’s Collaborate Asia Pacific 2026.
Held from 19-21 October, the three-day event brought together over 120 delegates to explore topics such as the application of AI, shifting regional investment, corporate finance, restructuring and M&As, capital markets and assurance, international tax and advisory, and changing talent demands.
The program put some of the biggest issues facing the profession at the center of discussions. Opening the conference, Shigehisa Miyake, Managing Partner of Yamada & Partners, shared a Japanese perspective on the forces reshaping professional services, including AI, evolving client expectations and international collaboration.
AI was a major focus, with leaders from firms across the region sharing practical experiences of adoption, risk management and the opportunities and challenges facing small and mid-sized accounting firms. Cross-border growth was another central theme. Discussions examined ASEAN's growing role in global trade and supply chains, international tax and Pillar Two, capital markets and assurance, and opportunities in corporate finance, restructuring and M&A.
PrimeGlobal also updated members on its five year Ready for Business strategy and its new initiatives to make international business across Asia Pacific more seamless, the India Global Capability Centre and China Business Support Desks.
“What has stood out in Tokyo is the value of firms sharing practical experiences with each other, not simply discussing what might happen next, but how they are responding today. Bringing that expertise together helps independent firms adapt faster and create greater value for their clients.” Steve Heathcote, CEO
“Asia Pacific is an incredibly dynamic region, but succeeding here requires strong local knowledge and trusted relationships across markets. Our members understand their individual markets deeply, and when we connect that expertise across borders, we can help firms and their clients identify opportunities and navigate the complexity of doing business internationally. That is what Collaborate Asia Pacific is really about.” George Guo, Executive Director, Asia Pacific
