ESR Speaker Line-up and Expert Panel at Insights Congress in Amsterdam

Environmental Social Responsibility (ESR) is a subject that is high on everyone’s agenda as finance professionals try to navigate new legislation, ESG frameworks, software, and reporting. 'Getting started with ESR' on the second day of the EMEA Insights Congress will showcase some high-caliber speakers, thought-provoking content, and a panel session with real-life examples from members. Delegates will come away from this session with plenty of ideas and inspiration to take back to their practice.

The session will kick off with Marcello Palazzi, Co-Founder of B-Corp Europe. Marcello will discuss the B Corp Certification and how this movement is transforming the global economy.

Marcello is a serial entrepreneur with a passion for creativity and social change. From developing environmental technology solutions to setting up global social summits, he has been blazing a trail for a better world for more than 30 years. Marcello is currently Global Ambassador for the B Corp Movement.

Next on the agenda is Prof. D.A. (Dick) de Waard RA MA, University of Groningen presenting 'The accountant in a new environment'.

Dick will take you through the developments in the field of sustainability, climate, impact, and the development of regulations in the field of corporate behavior and reporting. In Europe and in the United States of America, work is underway on sustainability reporting regulations that will soon be transposed into legislation in the European Union.

Dick has worked at EY Accountants for 35 years and is a member of the Sustainability Advisory Board of ABN AMRO MeesPierson, the Academic Council of Impact Economy Foundation and the Working Group Sustainability Reporting of the Annual Reporting Board.

The last speaker for this session Tjeerd Krumpelman, Global Head of Business Advisory, Reporting & Engagement at ABN AMRO will discuss 'Sustainability and Finance' including how to measure, report and steer on impact and value creation. Tjeerd's presentation will cover Integrated Thinking, Reporting & Impact and how this can support sustainability and long-term value creation for companies.

Tjeerd is Global Head of Business Advisory, Reporting & Engagement at ABN AMRO and one of the founders of PCAF . With more than 20 years of experience in the banking sector, the last eight years he has been working within ABN AMRO’s Corporate Strategy & Sustainability department.

Sharing Practices Panel

The recently formed PrimeGlobal ESR Panel has member firms who are all at different stages in their ESR journey. The panel aims to bring together the expertise and best practice of these global members.

B Corp Workbook for PrimeGlobal members

At the Insights Congress - EMEA PrimeGlobal will also be launching their B Corp Workbook in collaboration with Mark de Lat from member firm Eshuis Accountants and Aldo van Duivenboden, Project Manager at Saxion Conscious Business Lab.

The goal of this book is to inspire member firms to embrace sustainability within their firms and to give them confidence, learning and the capability to proactively provide the sustainability services their clients, and the world, need. By sharing practices and providing support PrimeGlobal will ensure their member firms are ready to step up when they are needed most.

PrimeGlobal Planet at the Insights Congress

PrimeGlobal is “partnering” with 24Bottles and will distribute reusable bottles to all our attendees. 24Bottles is B-Corp certified and takes several actions to preserve the planet. On the bottles that we distribute, there is written -0.08. This is to remind us that every time we refill the bottle, we avoid -0.08 kg of CO2 EQ from being released into the atmosphere.
PrimeGlobal has asked the hotel not to use plastic bottles. Instead, we have asked for glass bottles to be used throughout the whole of our event, and to provide a water dispenser so we can refill our 24Bottles.
The team activity on Sunday 20th November will be hosted at the Paralympic Sports Clinics: Only Friends Sports Center who understand that sports should be accessible to everyone.
