REH CPA, PLLC is a full-service accounting firm providing tax planning and preparation, bookkeeping, payroll, and business consulting services to individuals and small businesses. The firm is recognized for its professionalism, integrity, and commitment to long-term client relationships.
Founded in 2006 by Raymond Halstead, the firm began as a small family-run practice and quickly grew by focusing on turn-key solutions for small business owners. Over the years, REH CPA expanded its reach across the greater Charlotte area, added new partners, and strengthened its capabilities through several successful acquisitions, including Wheeler and Company CPAs (2019), Thompson, Smith & Co. (2021), Larry Powers, CPA (2023), and Ken Baxter, CPA (2024).
Today, REH CPA is led by Managing Partner Ray Halstead alongside Partners Andrew McMillan and Patricia Nass. The firm continues to grow while maintaining its close-knit, family-like culture, with a vision to become a leading regional firm through exceptional client service, innovation, and personalized financial solutions.

This is the remarkable journey of REH CPA, PLLC, a firm that has grown from humble beginnings to a thriving business while maintaining its close-knit, family-like atmosphere. In 2006, the founding partner, Ray Halstead, moved to Mooresville, NC, and entered into a partnership with his brother, forming Halstead & Halstead, CPA, PLLC. The following year, Ray decided to practice as a sole practitioner under the firm name Raymond E. Halstead, CPA, PLLC. That same year, Ray acquired a small bookkeeping firm, which allowed the firm to hire his now wife, Angela, who was previously working in insurance. The firm began focusing on providing turn-key solutions for small business owners, alleviating their stress related to bookkeeping, payroll, and taxes. This focus led to steady growth over the next several years, and in 2012, Halstead expanded the firm's marketing reach to the greater Charlotte area. With this growth came more employees and additional office space. In 2016, the firm underwent a significant change, adopting the name REH CPA, PLLC. The growth continued, and in January 2018, Andrew McMillan, acquired an ownership interest in the firm and was promoted to Tax Partner. The firm saw further expansion on January 1, 2019, when REH CPA acquired Wheeler and Company, CPA’s. This successful acquisition and transition resulted in a larger and stronger firm. Growth didn't stop there; in December 2021, REH CPA acquired Thompson, Smith & Co., followed by Larry Powers, CPA in August 2023, and Ken Baxter, CPA in February 2024. In January 2025, Patricia Nass, acquired an ownership interest in the firm and was promoted to Tax Partner. Additionally, Andrew McMillan, took over the role of Business Advisory Partner, managing bookkeeping and payroll business while launching a new CFO service offering. Ray Halstead remains the current Managing Partner of REH CPA, as well as REH Wealth, overseeing the sales and administrative team and the firm as a whole. Despite significant growth over the years, they have maintained that small firm feel where the staff feels like family, and everyone gets to know the clients on a first-name basis.
