Future Leaders Sikich

As businesses face rapid technological advancements and global shifts, developing future leaders is more critical than ever. Tailoring the next generation of leaders to be equipped to navigate complexity, drive innovation and foster inclusive environments is a main focus in our talent development strategy. Designated programming at Sikich is strategically implemented to do just that. In this fast-changing landscape, organizations need leaders who not only adapt but lead with purpose and vision.

Key Competencies for Future Leaders

Successful future leaders will need a blend of technical and soft skills. Here are the essential areas Sikich gears their future leaders focus towards:

  • Adaptability: The pace of change in the marketplace requires leaders who can pivot quickly, embrace uncertainty and guide teams through shifting landscapes.
  • Digital Fluency: As digital transformation reshapes industries, leaders must understand emerging technologies, data analytics and automation to drive innovation.
  • Emotional Intelligence (EQ): Leadership today demands empathy, communication and the ability to maintain an environment built around trust. High EQ helps leaders connect with diverse teams and drive engagement.
  • Inclusive Leadership: Diversity should be standard at every organization. Future leaders should work to create environments where different perspectives thrive, driving creativity and innovation.
Strategies for Developing Future Leaders

Building these skills requires a deliberate approach. Sikich has the following strategies and programming in place to nurture leadership talent:

  • Emerging Professionals Council: Connecting emerging leaders with experienced team members provides guidance, accelerates learning and offers new perspectives. Sikich formed the Emerging Professionals Council (EPC) to facilitate more and better engagement with team members who are early in their career development, a group that is often the most vocal and is in a strong position to bring us innovative ideas. Given the firm's ambitious growth goals, these fresh perspectives are absolutely vital to their success.
  • Sikich Scholars Program: Having structured development programs in place, such as the Sikich Scholars Program, that focus on leadership, digital literacy and emotional intelligence will better equip leaders for future challenges. This program gives tomorrow’s leadership opportunities to learn and collaborate with each other and prepare themselves to move forward in their careers.
  • Sikich RISE: An innovative leadership development program uniquely designed for Sikich, this cohort-style development program has 30-40 participants that will experience a combination of virtual sessions and group coaching over a period of five to six months. They’re also provided with ongoing support from a team of leadership coaches and facilitated by subject matter experts in organizational development. This program is designed specifically to teach those who want to be, how to be leaders.
Leveraging Technology in Leadership Development

Continuous innovation is at Sikich's core, which is why they are always looking for new ways to improve and enhance the services and value they bring to each other and clients. Utilizing technology as a tool to educate future leaders can play a key role in accelerating leadership growth:

  • E-learning Platforms: Personalized, scalable learning allows future leaders to gain critical skills on demand. “Sikich University”, Sikich’s designated Learning and Development platform, provides extensive resources for all employees to grow personally and professionally. Growth in both areas is essential to be a future leader.
  • Virtual Opportunities: Webinars and designated focus groups offer hands-on experience in solving complex leadership challenges in a safe environment. Cultivating Conversations is a focus group-driven program that provides a forum for employees to discuss and learn about a wide range of topics for their professional development. Additionally, Sikich University’s annual “Rush Week” provides employees with a week dedicated solely to utilize the learning and development resources we provide.
  • Upskill Employees: Evolve to meet the needs of an ever-changing workforce is critical. Upskilling your workforce helps you remain competitive. Through the Sikich AI Solutions Studio they've invested in continuous learning opportunities surrounding AI to ensure their workforce is well-equipped to leverage the new technologies effectively. From informal lunch and learn educational programs, to quarterly and annual training workshops and their ‘AI Awareness Pilot Team’, they’re committed to ensuring everyone is equipped with fundamental AI knowledge and skills. This can range from enabling better recognition of where AI could be utilized for more sophisticated trainings tailored to helping clients develop internal AI expertise.

Investing in future leaders is essential for long-term success. By fostering agility, emotional intelligence and digital fluency, organizations can develop leaders who are ready to take on the challenges of tomorrow. Building these skills today will ensure your organization thrives in an increasingly complex world.
