Leading: Izzy Silva on AI, trust and the future of the profession
Business Opportunities
September 9, 2026 - AcclimeTechnology is changing every part of the profession, but according to Acclime CEO Izzy Silva, the most successful firms will be those that keep people at the centre of what they do.
In the second of our leadership interview series, Izzy shared how Acclime, a professional and corporate services platform operating across 19 countries regionally, is approaching AI adoption, talent development and growth across Asia Pacific.

Here are five key takeaways for firm leaders.
1. Humanise the front end, digitise the back end
This simple insight really means that clients still expect human expertise and personal interaction. Technology should improve what happens behind the scenes, helping teams work faster, reduce errors and focus more time on building trusted relationships with clients. At Acclime, improved productivity has translated into better client outcomes and higher employee engagement.
“People are still very important. Technology augments their execution capability.”
2. Don't start with AI, start with data
While many firms rushed to experiment with AI tools, Acclime spent more than 12 months building its data architecture, standardising processes and identifying workflow pain points before introducing automation.
The firm also created a cross-functional team spanning technology, finance, commercial and client-facing roles to ensure AI initiatives were driven by business needs rather than technology alone.
Strong foundations matter more than chasing the latest trend.
3. The biggest challenge is reimagining workflows
Izzy believes the real disruption facing professional services firms is not AI itself.
“The problem itself in the future is not really the disruption the technology will cause. It is the inability for firms to reimagine their workflows.”
As AI becomes more accessible, competitive advantage will come from redesigning how work gets done. For many firms, changing long-established processes and ways of working may prove harder than implementing the technology itself.
4. Better-informed clients need better advisers
Contrary to concerns that AI could reduce demand for professional advice, Izzy is seeing the opposite.
Clients are arriving with a clearer understanding of what's possible and a more defined view of the outcomes they want to achieve. As information becomes easier to access, expert judgement becomes more important.
“In an age of data overload and technology overload, understanding exactly what a professional can do to solve their problem becomes very critical.”
5. Asia's opportunity comes with complexity
Izzy remains optimistic about the long-term growth potential of Asia Pacific, citing young populations, growing middle classes and rapid technology adoption. However, he also emphasised that success in the region requires navigating complex regulatory, cultural and commercial environments.
That is why local expertise remains essential.
“Trust will remain a core principle.”
While technology can improve execution, trusted advisors with deep knowledge of local markets will continue to play a critical role in helping businesses expand and grow across the region.
What firm leaders can take away
Across every topic discussed, one theme emerged consistently: technology should enhance professional expertise, not replace it. Firms that combine strong data foundations, modern workflows and trusted people will be best placed to thrive in the years ahead.
