MegaWeek 2023: A Week of Learning and Collaboration

October 23, 2023Following the triumph of our inaugural MegaWeek in August 2022, it was with great excitement that we welcomed our members back to MegaWeek in 2023.
This dynamic week featured four of our PrimeGlobal forums, hosting in-person meetings for our Human Resources and Training, Firm Operations and Finance Administration, and Marketing and Technology Leaders groups.

Day One: Setting the Stage
The event kicked off with a warm welcome from Heidi M. Brundage, Member Services Manager at PrimeGlobal, setting the stage for engaging discussions and insightful sessions.
One of the significant highlights was the introduction of our new Global Partner, Xero, which promises exciting opportunities for our members.
Day one was filled with enriching sessions, including a presentation by Generational Expert Matt Havens on Stop Acting Your Age!—an engaging exploration of resolving generational issues in the workplace. Donny Shimamoto's session on Unlocking the Power of Accounting Transformation emphasized the practical application of accounting innovation to #improvetheworld.
As we wrapped up the first day, members reflected on sessions covering The Future of Accounting, AI for Accounting and Advisory Firms, and discussions on the most significant challenges facing member firms in HR, IT, Firm Ops, and Marketing. The day concluded with members enjoying an evening at the Baltimore Orioles vs. Washington Nationals baseball game.
Day Two: AI in Focus
The second day of MegaWeek got off to a great start as we delved into one of the most compelling topics in the modern professional landscape – Artificial Intelligence (AI). Apoorv Dwivedi set the tone with a captivating presentation, The AI Roadmap: Setting Your Firm Up For Success. Attendees were treated to an exploration of the transformative possibilities AI offers. Throughout the session, participants gained invaluable insights, helping them demystify AI concepts and design customized adoption strategies for their firms and clients.
Moreover, the day was brimming with captivating discussions, covering an array of intriguing topics such as:
Creating DEI Impact: The discussion on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) raised critical questions about the real effectiveness of DEI programs. Insights from the Center for Accounting Transformation's DEI Journey survey and other research underscored the importance of fostering a genuine sense of belonging within the profession.
Best Tech Practices: Attendees were privy to best practices for effectively implementing new technology, ensuring they stay at the forefront of technological advancements.
Employer Branding: The significance of employer branding in attracting and retaining top talent was explored, shedding light on the role branding plays in the competitive job market.
HR & IT Collaboration: The day concluded with an exploration of strategies to enhance collaboration between HR and IT, with a specific focus on optimizing employee onboarding and offboarding processes.

ESR Intiatives
In a noteworthy achievement, we are thrilled to share that our contributions from the conference made a meaningful impact. Through our food donations, we were able to provide nourishment to approximately 350 people, extending a helping hand to those in need.
Additionally, our Change Wars initiative, helped us to raise a total of $281.50. Along with PrimeGloba's contribution, we were able to donate $1,000 USD to the Waterfront Partnership's Healthy Harbor Initiative. Day Three: Wrapping Up
The final day of MegaWeek arrived and the day was still filled with insightful breakout sessions that covered a diverse range of topics:
In Leading the Hybrid Workplace, we gained valuable insights into effective leadership within a hybrid work setting. This session provided a blueprint for navigating the ever-evolving world of work.
Promoting Wellbeing took center stage as we explored strategies to foster a culture of health and happiness within our firms, emphasizing the importance of employee wellness.
The Mental Toughness Bootcamp was a transformative experience, equipping attendees with the resilience and mental fortitude to thrive in challenging times.
In the realm of marketing, AI and ChatGPT in Marketing, allowed us to explore the opportunities and challenges presented by artificial intelligence in the marketing landscape, setting the stage for innovation.
Our day culminated with an engaging talk by Laura Liswood, who shared insights on finding the leader within. Her book, The Elephant and the Mouse, was thoughtfully signed for our members to take home.
