MCM CPAs & Advisors LLP, Kentucky’s largest accounting and advisory firm, has announced the addition of Kathy Herbig, CPA. With more than 20 years of experience providing tax compliance and consulting services to clients, Herbig will hold the position of Tax Partner with the Firm as of June 5, 2023. Kathy comes to MCM from Crowe where she served as Managing Director in their financial services tax practice.

Kathy has provided tax consulting and compliance services to financial institutions ranging from $70 million in total assets to publicly traded, multi-state financial institutions with multi-billion-dollar total assets. She works extensively with both C-Corporation and S-Corporation financial institutions and provides expertise related to tax accounting and financial statement presentation under ASC 740, including tax credit investments (Low-Income Housing Tax Credits, Historic Rehabilitation Tax Credits, and Solar Energy Tax Credits) and stock-based compensation, and tax considerations in mergers and acquisitions including Day 1 and Day 2 tax accounting.
In addition to providing clients with tax services, Kathy is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), Kentucky Society of Certified Public Accounts (KYCPA), and a past board member of Junior Achievement of Kentuckiana. She also has had numerous speaking engagements such as KYCPA Financial Institutions Conference, Bank and Capital Markets Tax Institute, and Subchapter S Bank Association Conference. Kathy is a graduate of the University of Louisville, obtaining a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration – Accounting.
